JF 2-8-2 steam loco was one of the South Manchurian Railway locomotives built by the Japanese between 1918 & 1935.
The JF mikado is one of the most significant classes in Chinese railway history. Introduced in 1918 by the Japanese as they consolidated their hold over Manchuria, the JF became the standard freight loco in the north-east. More than 2000 were built by the Japanese and after 1949 up to 400 by the Chinese themselves. The last were produced in 1959/60.
